23 July 2011 - The First Transpennine Express ad I designed the characters for is being shown on UK telly thoughtout July and August. If you haven't (train) spotted it yet, you can see it on YouTube. Hurrah for the internet!
03 June 2011 - It's time for a well overdue update. You may be wondering what have I been up to? Since my last entry I've worked on a animated presentation for Nokia, a 3D stereoscopic animation for the Britsh dance group Diversity, a live action on CG architectural visualisation, an infographic for BP Solar, and a few other bits and bobs. Just recently I designed the characters and landmarks in a commerical for a well known train company - coming to a tv near you soon!
06 September 2010 - Woah, it's been a while since my last news entry. I'm currently based in Soho - Seed have kindly given me a corner to occupy in their very nice office. I've completed a set of three short animated sequences for a nursery school, and a two minute animation for a team learning company. In between that I have been working on my own 3D short, attending the odd conference and networking event, and travelling up and down the country. In other news, Animal Lifting has been shown at the Animafest and IndieLisboa festivals.
08 February 2010 - I have uploaded a new showreel featuring some projects, bits of blu-tack, and brown paper. Watch it and feel free to whistle along to the happy tune. Oh, you can't whistle? Try humming instead.
24 December 2009 – Please enjoy this animation I have made especially for you. Hurrah for fuzzy felt!
15 December 2009 – Arrived back in the UK safely. China was an amazing experience! I hope to go back in the near future. My to-do list is ever expanding. An updated showreel and brand new website design is in the works. Watch this space... but remember to blink!
25 October 2009 – I'm working in China for a couple of months with Green Leaf Film Studios as an Animation Supervisor. I'll be back just in time for Christmas.
19 October 2009 – Completed a TV advert for Japanese clothing company Gunze Kids. Stay tuned for more details!
02 September 2009 – My latest work is now live! Check them out on YouTube and don't forget to have a look at the main film too. Who's your favourite character?
13 August 2009 – Recently completed three animated teasers for MediaCityUK. I designed and animated three creatures that are lost in Manchester. I'll let you know when they go online.
23 June 2009 – "Live Music" trailer released. ReelFX have done a fantastic job with the texturing and lighting.
03 June 2009 – Animal Lifting has been selected for the "Just for Laughs Festival" in Montreal. I'm sure it will get lots of giggles!
15 April 2009 – Added the Mass Animation shot I worked on to the Character Animation section.
03 April 2009 – New website sections are up! I’ve added the About, Links and Contact pages.
03 February 2009 – Finished the requested changes to my Mass Animation shot – some slight tweaks to the animation and a new camera move. The film is now in post-production for the next couple of months.
30 December 2008 – Received an email today from Mass Animation. My shot has been chosen for the animated short, "Live Music". As a Grand Prize Winner I will receive $500 and an onscreen credit – I'm so chuffed! With over 50,000 participants from 101 countries and 51 winners from around the world, Mass Animation is the largest global animation collaboration ever. It's nice to be a part of it.
23 December 2008 – Hurrah, a website update! Work is now live comprising of three sections – showreel, character animation and motion graphics.
19 December 2008 – Judging for the Mass Animation easy shots closed today. My entry came in second place after only being up for four days! Thanks to everyone who voted. Hopefully it will get picked for the final film by the jury. I’m keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed!
03 December 2008 – Attended the 3December event in London. Autodesk gave a demonstration of Mudbox, and presentations were made by Double Negative, Framestore, Moving Picture Company, Taylor James and Lionhead Studios. I was most impressed by an interactive visualisation of the human heart, created by Glassworks. Free entertainment included a pinball machine, air hockey table and even a back massage!
18 November 2008 – My homepage goes live! Still working on the other sections - I'll be updating the news and make further announcements when new sections are available.
17 November 2008 – After waiting nearly three months, Mass Animation has finally begun! I'm really excited about the collaborative aspect of the film and can't wait to get stuck in to some character animation. I just have to choose the shots I want to work on and I'm away!
28 October 2008 – Been working from home on a project with Seed. I love working in London but I can't say I miss the commute...
24 October 2008 – Between working on my website and new showreel I am studying a course of Maya tutorials. Whilst time consuming, they are proving to be very useful.
29 September 2008 – Attended the Virgin Media Shorts Awards Ceremony. I was kindly invited by Paulina Brinck, whose entry "The Big Push" was selected as one of 12 finalists out of 1400 entries. Well done, Paulina!
11 September 2008 – I've just completed a set of bumpers for the Community Channel and their "Helping Others Can Help U" campaign. I spent the last couple of weeks working in the depths of Seed's lair. There are some tasty lunch venues to be found in Soho!
